Are soccer shoes required?

No, but shin guards are. The soccer socks provided to you are part of the uniform must be completely covered by socks during games. Should you elect to wear soccer shoes, they cannot have a top front cleat like baseball shoes often have.

I've heard that jewelry is not allowed.

Correct. Please assist you child prior to team warm-ups by removing: earrings, bracelets and necklaces. Hair ties must be non-metallic. Glasses may be worn.


How long is the soccer season?

Soccer games start the week after Labor Day and usually go through the middle of October. Most teams will have several practices before Labor Day.


Is prior experience necessary?

No. AYSO is a recreational league and coaches will review basic technique during practice and pre-games.


What can I bring for our team snack?

Our division prefers to keep snacks simple. We have adopted this easy guideline: fruit and water!


I can't coach but would like to help out. What can I do?

AYSO is run directly by volunteers so any help is appreciated. There are many ways to help. You can help your child's coach by scheduling the team snack, draft a team letter, or organize an end of year get together. There are also openings on the Board of Directors for volunteers.


I missed the Registration night, what should I do?

After registration closes, please call 583-PLAY or send us an email and we will place your child on a wait list. If space opens up, we will gladly register your child. However, no players will be added after the first week of play.
